Troubleshooting

Install issues

These come up regularly — usually solvable in 30 seconds.

Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" and refuses to run the installer
This is SmartScreen protecting against installers without an Extended Validation code-signing certificate. Click "More info" → "Run anyway". Once enough installs accumulate reputation, the warning disappears.
macOS says "cannot verify the developer"
System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to the bottom and click "Open Anyway". Or in Terminal: `xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Rethink\ Data.app`
Does Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) work natively?
Yes, the macOS DMG is a universal binary supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon. The OS picks the right architecture automatically.
The download link is slow or blocked
Make sure your network can reach quantdatafetch.com. Some corporate / campus networks block .exe / .dmg downloads — try a different network (home Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot) if so.
App installs but crashes on launch
Send the client logs to support. Windows logs live in `%APPDATA%/Quant Data Fetch/logs/`, macOS in `~/Library/Application Support/Quant Data Fetch/logs/`. Include your OS version and the last few lines of any error log.
